All you need is proof of identity and your home address to activate your Tuxedo MasterCard® or Maestro® Prepaid Card and eccount. There are no credit checks and no awkward questions to answer.

Simply choose from one of the two following options:-
1. Confirm that you’re personally registered with at least two of the following:-
- Home land line telephone number
- Electricity supply number
- Full UK driving licence number
- That you’re registered on the Electoral Roll
2. A photocopy of the photo page of your passport
- All nationalities are welcome. Some older style passports may require certification – call Customer Care for an activation form with details.
Machine Readable Passport:
A machine readable passport DOES NOT require certification. It has two lines of letters,
numbers and chevrons (<<) at the bottom of the photo page similar to this:

A Passport Requiring Certification
If you DO NOT have a machine readable passport, you must get the photocopy certified by ONE
of the following:
Post Office Official Elected Counselor Accountant Police Officer Chemist
Trade Union Officer Official of Religion Journalist Optician Paramedic
Doctor Social Worker Notary Lecturer Teacher
MP Solicitor Librarian Nurse
(SRN or SEN)
Travel Agency Surveyor Dentist Officer of

Fire Service Permanent Civil Commissioner

The certification must read:

Other options
If you’re unable to provide the information required, don’t worry, we may still be able to confirm your identity using other documents you may have, such as birth or marriage certificates, utility bills or benefits entitlement letters. Please call Customer Care on 0845 241 4276 for more details.
When you receive your Tuxedo Prepaid Card through the post, you can retrieve your PIN by following the instructions in your Welcome Letter, then Top-up and it’s ready to use.
